Why the alcohol
was left out

Alcohol does two jobs in a conventional spray: it dissolves the oils and it throws them into the air on contact. Remove it and you lose the burst, which is exactly the point. What remains settles on skin and releases gradually with body heat, so the fragrance has a quieter opening and a far longer middle. There is no alcohol bite on freshly shaved skin either, which is the other reason to care.

The trade is that it will not fill a room. Nothing about this one is built to.
