Ring buckle / Belt hardware

It closes like a belt,
not like a necklace

The fastening decides how a wide collar wears. This one drops a tongue into a plain silver-tone ring, then takes the tail under two loose keeper rings and finishes it with a pointed metal cap. You size it by the hole, the way you would a belt.

01A ring buckle, one tongue
The buckle is a round silver-tone ring rather than a rectangular frame, and the tongue drops into a punched hole. Nothing clicks and nothing is sprung, so nothing can release by itself.
02Two keepers, then a capped tail
Past the buckle the strap threads through two loose rings and ends in a pointed metal cap held by small screws. The tail stays flat to the neck instead of standing away from it.
03The centre tab is bolted through
From the inner face you can see two cross-head screws sitting between flat dome rivets where the ring tab crosses the band. The ring is a separate part fixed through both layers, not a fold of the strap.

The heart is a charm

It hangs from the centre ring on a small link, with a keyhole moulded into the face, and it is there as decoration. None of this is load-bearing: the fittings are plated, the band is a coated synthetic, and the collar is sized to rest on the neck rather than to be pulled against.

Two layers / Plated hardware

The strap is two layers of coated synthetic with a narrower strip raised along the middle and stitched right through, which is what keeps a wide band from creasing at the two points where the neck bends it. The inner face is plain, matte and unlined.

The silver finish is plating over base metal, so it will wear at the buckle and the keeper rings before it wears anywhere else.
